Each year the practice undertakes two Annual Patient Satisfaction Surveys – one at each practice site i.e. the Claypath Medical Centre and the University Health Centre.
The comments from each survey are then discussed with members of the Patient Participation Group. A Patient Survey Action Plan is then developed by the Group for each practice site and progress on achieving actions in the two plans is subsequently monitored and reviewed by the Group.
Claypath Medical Centre survey – January, 2016
The survey commenced on 12th January, 2016, and 300 survey questionnaires were handed out. The survey methodology was the same as for the UHC survey in June, 2015, but only took one week to complete due to Patient Participation Group members forming a rota to hand out the survey questionnaires to patients as they attended the surgery. The survey was also e-mailed to the practice’s Virtual Patient Reference Group and promoted on the practice website.
The responses were analysed and set out in a survey report which was discussed at the Patient Participation Group at its next meeting on Thursday, 25th February, 2016. A draft action plan was developed at this meeting and finalised as attached:
University Health Centre survey – June, 2016
250 survey questionnaires were printed out and a date chosen to start the survey in June, 2015. The survey questionnaires were handed out to patients to complete as they waited for their appointments and were returned to the reception desk as patients left the surgery. The survey took approximately two weeks to complete.
The responses were analysed and set out in a survey report. The report was discussed at the Patient Participation Group meeting in September, 2016, and a number of action points were developed where it was considered service improvements could be made. These are set out in the attached action plan.
